By January 14th 2019, POWERCHINA Gonghe 50MW tower CSP project, one of China's first batch of CSP demonstration projects, has installed 29788 heliostats, approaching completion of the solar field.
SUPCON SOLAR is responsible for equipment supply, installation and technological service of the solar island, which consists of 30016 heliostats. On February 1st, 2018, SUPCON SOLAR signed the contract with POWERCHINA NORTHWEST ENGINEERING CORPORATION LIMITED, which is the general contractor. On June 28th, the first assembly line came into service and the first heliostat was assembled and installed. By January 14th, the heliostat field has almost been completed except for 228 sets remaining due to temporary facility. The assembly and installation works have only taken 6 months and 17 days, which broke the record of SUPCON SOLAR Delingha 50MW tower CSP project.
The smooth progress of the project benefited from prudent planning, organization and cooperation by the project team of SUPCON SOLAR and installers, and coordination and support by the owner, general contractor, and supervising company. The expeditiousness of the project also proved that SUPCON SOLAR’s heliostat has matured after sustaining on-site application of Delingha 10MW and 50MW projects. Currently, receiver panel installation has begun. SUPCON SOLAR will continue to coordinate with other parties to diligently complete the following project tasks as scheduled, and be sufficiently prepared for commissioning.
